iTOOLco Cannon 6K Named Official Wire Puller of First Lunar Colony
OAK RIDGE, TN. (April 1, 2016) – iTOOLco, a leading developer of products that increase safety, save time, lower worker effort, and improve results for electrical contractors and the professionals they employ, announced today that the company’s innovative product, the Cannon 6K, has been selected as the official wire puller of the first lunar colony due to its light weight, compact size, and fast pulling speed.
Construction on the 19,500 square foot lunar colony is set to begin in 2021 and is scheduled for completion in 2045. The Cannon 6K will be used to wire the lunar outpost with solar power and communication cables. A total of ten Cannon 6K’s will be transported into space on an unmanned spaceflight planned for March 2018.
“Gravitational testing is a critical part of our research and development program,” said David Jordan, President at iTOOLco. “We expect the Cannon 6K to perform very well under the moon’s significantly low gravitational pull.”
With dual capstans, the Cannon 6K can pull 8′ and 28′ of wire per minute on low speed and 20′ and 70′ of wire feet per minute on high speed on Earth. iTOOLco anticipates the minimal gravitational pull on the moon to yield much faster wire pulls of 8,000’ and 28,000’ per minute on low speed and 20,000’ and 70,000’ per minute on high speed. The wire pullers are scheduled to go into service on April Fool’s Day, 2018.
